Frequently Asked Denture Questions

Because every patient has different needs and each denture is customized, we cannot provide an accurate estimate over the phone. We offer a complimentary 30-minute denture consultation with Registered Denturist Sonia Raeisi, who will assess your needs, explain your options, answer your denture cost questions and provide a treatment estimate.

Many broken, cracked or damaged dentures can be repaired. We offer same-day repairs when feasible, with repair appointments generally booked in the morning. The denture must be examined before we can confirm whether it is repairable, provide a price or estimate when it will be ready. Older or extensively damaged dentures may need to be replaced.

In many cases, a chipped, loose or missing denture tooth can be repaired or replaced. Bring the denture to the clinic so our denturist can assess its condition.

We accept many insurance plans. Denture insurance coverage and claim procedures vary, so please provide your policy information when booking your appointment.

We may submit a no-obligation predetermination for denture treatment. Your insurer will review the request and advise how much may be covered. A predetermination is an estimate and does not guarantee final payment.

Processing times vary by insurer and may range from approximately one week to several weeks. Contact us if you have not received an update so we can confirm the submission details.

Most denture treatments require approximately three to seven appointments over four to six weeks. How long new dentures take to make varies according to the treatment, materials, healing requirements and appointment availability. Adjustments may also be needed after insertion.

Your gums and jaw naturally change over time, which helps explain why dentures become loose. A professional assessment can determine whether an adjustment, reline, rebase or replacement is appropriate.

Yes, depending on their age, condition and fit. A denturist may recommend an adjustment, reline or rebase. Dentures that are worn or no longer suitable may need replacement.

Some patients may qualify for flexible or acrylic partial dentures without a metal framework. The appropriate material depends on your remaining teeth, bite and treatment needs. A consultation is required to determine whether a metal-free option is suitable.

Complete dentures replace all teeth in an upper or lower arch. Partial dentures replace one or more missing teeth and work with the remaining natural teeth for support.

There is no universal replacement date. How long dentures last depends on fit, wear, materials, oral changes and maintenance. Regular examinations help determine when dentures should be relined, rebased or replaced.

There is no fixed schedule suitable for every patient. A reline may be recommended when changes in the gums or jaw cause a denture to become loose. The denture’s condition and fit should be assessed to determine when dentures need a reline.

Signs that dentures do not fit properly may include soreness, slipping, clicking, difficulty chewing or speaking, or a change in your bite. These concerns should be assessed professionally.

Continue attending regular oral examinations after receiving dentures. Your denturist or dental professional will recommend a schedule for denture follow-up appointments based on your health, denture fit and treatment history.

Yes. Implant-supported dentures use compatible components to connect the denture to dental implants. An assessment is required to determine whether a new or replacement denture can work with your existing implant system.

New dentures may initially cause pressure or minor sore spots while your mouth adjusts. Begin with softer foods, practise speaking aloud and attend recommended follow-up appointments. Contact the clinic if discomfort persists or becomes severe.

No. Dentures are precisely fitted appliances, and altering them yourself may damage the denture, injure your mouth and affect warranty coverage. Contact a denturist if you have denture fitting questions or need professional adjustments.

Dentures may require replacement when they become significantly worn, damaged, loose or unable to provide comfortable function. Our denturist can answer your denture replacement questions and recommend an appropriate option following an examination.

Depending on your oral health and treatment needs, implant-supported dentures may provide greater stability than conventional removable dentures. An assessment is needed to determine whether this option is appropriate.
